Well skipping to the end I got sent home again after the worst bit of pain settled down and I'll admit I was glad to get out and go home with better pain killers. I've been a bit meh since I got back and lacking inspiration card making wise. I have however been doing quite a bit of cross stitching and I'll share some of my creations with you over the next few days.
For now I'll share the last card I managed to complete. It was for my father's birthday. He got the extra present of seeing me off in an ambulance after giving me money for a taxi home from the hospital. Lucky him hahaha.
Sheena Douglas "A Little Bit Scenic" - Highland Silhouette and Silhouette Grasses
Distress Inks - Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Black Soot
It took quite a while to create a background I was happy with. I created it by using Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed DI's keeping them quite light starting with the Squeezed Lemonade in the centre and the moving out with the Mustard Seed. I used a tiny amount of the Wild Honey on the outer edge of the card stock. I spritzed the DI's with plain water to create some movement in the background and used the faux bleaching techniqe to create a sun (I imagined the stag was surveying it's surroundings at dawn) and to add light to the mountains. I stamped the island, mountains and flowers in black versa fine and the stag was stamped and embossed with black powder on seperate card then cut out and added to give extra depth. Finally, when the entire scene was created I edged the card with Black Soot for extra definition.
Well that's it from me. I hope that you are well and thank you for popping by to visit.
