Anyhoo onto the cards I'm sharing today. You might not know this about me (in fact I'm pretty sure you don't know this about me) but the thought of making one-layer cards makes me go a bit wibbly-wobbly as they induce panic over the fact that if I screw them up there's no way to rescue them. So, you should be suitably impressed that I actually created two of these cards yesterday and had fun making them to boot!
Due to the fact I'm late for absolutely everything in the online world I decided to join the Clean & Simple Card Making class over at Online Card Classes. The class isn't interactive anymore but it's still full of inspiration and it was one of the cards created by Julie Ebersole that inspired these.
Clearly Besotted Stamps/Dies - Fancy Feathers
Studio Calico Mr. Huey's Color Mists - Warm Calico and Shine
Adirondak Color Wash - Stream
So these were really simple to make, I just masked off the area I wanted to spritz with post it notes and a die cut of the feather. Squirted mists over the card, let them dry and then stamped the feather and message. I felt they needed a little border so the white I did in crayon and the black with a fine tipped liner. At first I was a bit freaked out that the masked areas weren't perfect and there's a bit of bleeding around the edges of the squares but then I decided it made them look individual and that means I actually made only two cards! No restarts here. This is a major breakthrough for me because usually everything has to be perfect and normally I'd be a bit unhappy with the finished result here, but this time I actually like it.
I'm still messing around with my photos at the moment so please bare with me until I find a style I like. I hope you're well and thanks for popping by.
